Getting to the end of the year anyway.
So we cleared customs that said we’d leave the country today knowing full well that we’d spend one more night up island.
After that huge meal last night I slept in till 8 am and then started to look for water. The place on the dock wasn’t open yet, supposed to open at 8 am but it’s now 9:30 and I have driven by 3 times with no one there. Took a chance and asked the local limes if they were going to open and sure enough a few $$ and they would find some water for me. $5 USD. And I had 25 gallons of wage from some where and we were good to go.
Back to water up the boat and drop the mooring ball. Our briddle was put in by the boat boy and this morning it was a tangled mess. 30+ minutes of futzing with finally we stood a chance of leaving as they brought a bib boat in that would be within 10 feet from our bow.
Down wind run behind the island today so we just set the gib with dark and rainy clouds on the horizon. Wayne got it all set up then went down below for something. I decided it was time to drop the lures and catch the big one. I grabbed the rod and dropped the lure and damned if I didn’t knock old glory off yhe stern as well. With he wood pole it’s bound to float. I ran over and pulled it in to neutral and began to roll up the gib! Turned the boat around and them Chrisine and Wayne came up with a perplexed look and I explained what I had done.
We spotted here loading and with one quick grab with the boat hook old glory was back on board and we could resume our voyage. Set the gib and motor sailed as we needed some electricity for our 2hour journey today.
We sailed by wallabough bay where they shot pirates of the caribbean and stern tied at Cumberland bay for the evening. We swam a shore after getting all situated and hickey to the top of the St Vincent peaks. There was supposed to be a rum factory or bar up there, but I think that was Christine’s ploy to get me to hike up the damn hill.
They packed 13 boats in here and we feel like sardines in this small bay. Locals are happy for the business we feel like we are living in an apartment.
Tuna and risotto for dinner, saved enough for a snack tomorrow or the next day.
We are off to St. lucia in the morning probably spending new years near the Pitons and a new flavor of local beer.
